THE ODESSA REVIEW NEW ISSUE
A one act tragicomedy presented by Ukrainian artist Aleksey Vertinskiy. The solo performance is staged by director Igor Slavinsky, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and based on a play by Yaroslav Stelmakh. The only character of the play symbolizes the artist, a writer who muses on the difficulty of putting words together, of finding the right form of self-expression. The performance debuted in Kiev in 1998, has won the Grand Prix at the international theater festival in Edinburgh, now on a tour of Ukraine beginning in Odessa.
